STATEMENT
To mitigate the consequences of fire, accident, sudden illness, or disaster in the community-To promote life and safety and to reduce human suffering through public education and fire prevention programs-To recognize that every individual is valuable and maximize each members potential-To reach into the future, never forgetting the lessons of the past.

Services
The types of services provided by Gulf Shores Fire Rescue have increased over the past few years. Fire response is provided by five pumpers, two ladders trucks and a heavy rescue unit. At least 9 personnel are on duty at all times. The off-duty and volunteer personnel (29/12) can be paged for an emergency.
The department prides itself on the protection of life and
property In fire situations an effort is made to insure that
no additional damage occurs after the department's arrival.
Clean-up and
weather protection is preformed to the greatest extent
practical.
Emergency medical response is made by the nearest ALS
pumper for all calls and
medical transportation is provided by
MEDSTAR,
a private ambulance company. All shift personnel are Firefighter/EMT or Firefighter/Paramaedic. Blood pressure monitoring is provided on a walk-in basis at fire stations 1 and 2.
The Technical Rescue Team provides Hazardous Material
Response, High Angle Rescue, Confined Space Rescue as well
as Water Rescue. In addition the fire rescue department
responds to all other types of emergencies and provides any
necessary action to protect against injury and property
loss.
Fire and Safety inspections are conducted for all business and to homes on request, at no charge. Pre-incident plans are prepared for all target hazards to ensure proper operation of all built in protection systems and to familiarize the department with the property and management. The department is
dispatched for emergencies by
Baldwin County 911
(E-911).
